Day 4 - Inverarnan to Bridge of Orchy (18.56 miles)

So we stayed in the Ardlui hotel last night which was dead old fashioned! Brilliant steak pie though for dinner. Ready for today's marathon. We had to get the ferry from Ardlui to Inverarnan before starting.

We've seen so many comic toadstools so you will have to see them too!

Back to the hills hills and more stunning hills!
We took  the gravel track north along Glen Falloch, shadowing the River Falloch through nice open woods and pasture. Couldn't see the Falls of Falloch as the trees were so dense. Need to come back in Autumn or Winter when the leaves are not on.
Now the trail follows the pylon line for a while, plus the road and railway. After the buildings at Derrydaroch, we crossed the river. The path went under an underpass beneath the railway, and followed a very short stretch of disused tarmac road before passing under the A82.
We climbed gradually away from the road on a stretch of track that started life as a military road. This leads through open country with hill views, eventually climbing into forestry.

We crossed a bridge over the River Fillan and followed the farm track

You can see Ben More, Stob Binnein and Cruach Ardrain to the left of this panorama of Strathfillan.

The graveyard and ruined priory at Kirkton Farm.
